Daily Program

 The Kindergarten  opens  at   7:30       share breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00   the actual classes start at 9:00 and finish at 16:00
 Daycare is available from 16:00 to 17:00

Daycare is available from 16:00 to 17:00. It is not included in tuition fees. It is necessary to register and pay in advance at the beginning of the semester (semi-annually). Only under these conditions  can a child use Daycare. It cannot be paid by individual hours.

Daily program:

In Kindergarten (3 to 5 years) children are divided into three groups, not only by age but also by their knowledge and skills:

  •  Starters  – Beginners
  • Movers  – Intermediates
  • Flyers     – Advanced

Here the program focuses on the adaptation of children to an English-speaking environment; writing skills, such as holding pencils properly; using scissors safely; using brushes correctly; expanding and enriching vocabulary; and overall personal development.

All instruction is in English and the children are also encouraged to make the most of their opportunities by communicating among themselves and with the teacher in English.  Although each group has its own designated teacher, the teachers rotate through the different levels during the day.  In this way, children experience different accents and style of teaching which broaden their total educational experience.

Every day there are exercises to instruct and help improve the children’s understanding of the alphabet, numbers, colours, shapes, days of the week, months of the year, the weather, etc. Every day subjects relate to the topic of the week, month, season or event. The topics are integrated into fairy tales, nursery rhymes or songs which are often repeated during the week and rehearsed for the performances that we have twice a year – before Christmas and at the end of the school year.

Teaching Recorder and Music:

Teaching recorder and music are included in the tuition and are taught once a week separately with instructors. Children are divided into groups according to their abilities and skills. Parents are expected to purchase a specific type of recorder according  to the child’s age.

The main advantage of playing the recorder for children is to enable them to work well with the breath which is necessary for the healthy development of each individual.

Materials:

Each child has a folder in which his materials, e.g. worksheets or other activities that are used daily for drawing are placed. These components remain throughout the whole year in the child’s locker and are fully available to the parents who can look whenever they want and see what the child is doing and how he is progressing. Children are able to take their folders home with them at the end of the school year as a constant reminder of their personal achievements and a way of remembering the joys of childhood.  We are happy when parents work with us and discuss at home with their children whether they have properly understood the activities. Our goal is to promote individual development of children in all areas of education with an emphasis on the smooth and seamless transition of the child to the next grade.
